How Do You Rethink Your Best-Laid Plans When the Unexpected Happens?

Cum regândești socoteala făcută acasă, când apare neprevăzutul?

In this climate of uncertainty, how are your professional plans going? Have you put them on hold for the holidays, or are you still figuring out which direction to take?

Among the people I work with, I keep hearing that more and more people no longer feel at home in what they do, and are searching for something meaningful that brings them fulfillment, joy, and money. Before this year, most people were okay with what they were doing and didn't ask themselves too many questions about growth and fulfillment. But in the context of the pandemic, forced to work more isolated from one another, many started asking themselves what really matters to them.

Others, who may have lost their job or their business, were forced to rethink everything that was happening and how they still want to — and can — build something new.
I went through a process like that myself, where I had to rethink everything I do and how I do it, and it wasn't easy at all.
Because, unlike other crises, this time everything was amplified, putting even more pressure on us — fear, endless waiting, uncertainty, and a loss of control. But the good news is that in turbulent times, crises are exactly when the most money gets made — for those who are flexible and open to opportunities.

Rethinking Strategy

So I invite you to look at the process you're going through right now as an opportunity to change something in your life. Maybe you've long wanted to learn something new, or maybe you want to go down the path of freelancing, entrepreneurship, or having multiple income streams. Maybe until now you kept telling yourself you didn't have time, and kept putting off the thing your soul was asking for.

Speaking of which, the other day I watched a documentary called "Visionary Surgeons" on Netflix. I was left deeply inspired and moved by doctors who did their jobs with such passion and dedication that it no longer mattered how many hours they spent in hospitals, or that they themselves were sick and facing personal challenges. Beyond all that, they never forgot to be human with their patients — they got emotionally involved in their cases, and quite often even found solutions to help those who couldn't afford certain procedures. As I listened to them speak with passion and professionalism about what they do, I noticed they had that humility in them — they didn't see themselves as gods; quite the opposite, they believed they always had something to learn, something to improve, and they learned from their mistakes and from the connection with every person they met.
What I want to say with this is that you can give, you can contribute, and the financial rewards follow when you do what you do out of passion, dedication, and with the intention to leave something behind on this earth.

Meaning, if you first go to that place within yourself where you connect with your most precious gifts and choose to put them to use. Then, you start giving to others from what you do and who you are. Honestly, when I choose the specialists, doctors, and partners I work with, I always look at the person in front of me, beyond their professional skills.
What matters to me is whether that person has good intentions, whether they have compassion for people, and whether they have the kind of kindness that inspires others too. Maybe sometimes I have to search hard, but today I know for certain that people like this exist, and I believe their role is to inspire the rest of us too.

So, before you decide which professional or financial direction you want to take next year, I recommend you first answer a few questions:

  • What purpose do you want to serve through what you do? What is your why?
  • What kind of person do you want to be in relation to others? How do you want to be perceived by others?
  • How do you want to contribute to creating a better environment around you? How do you want to inspire others?
  • What do you need to develop/learn in order to do all this?

In the year ahead, the people who stand to gain the most are those who adapt as quickly and easily as possible to an environment that changes from one day to the next. And for that, you need that inner strength that helps you land on your feet no matter the circumstances.

To help you with that, I've put together a 10-week group coaching program starting on January 12th. In short, there will be around 5-7 of us, and besides the support we'll give each other, you'll go through a coaching process where you choose the goal you're working on. Then, through various group tools, we'll make sure that by the end of the 10 weeks you're exactly where you need to be.

For registration and more details, see here: How to Succeed in Uncertain and Turbulent Times

Talk soon,
Raluca

P.S: until December 24th, the program price is reduced from 1400 lei to 697 lei 🙂
